Alert Description

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Central St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana... Southwestern Pearl River County in southern Mississippi... * WHEN...Until 545 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1115 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 7 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but little additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Safety Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
