High Wind Warning

Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera

High Wind Warning issued October 31 at 1:46PM MDT until November 2 at 5:00PM MST by NWS Great Falls MT

Alert Description

* WHAT...Southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph develop tonight with gusts up to 70 mph expected late Saturday through Sunday morning. Isolated gusts in excess 75 mph possible Saturday night. * WHERE...Eastern Glacier, Western Toole, and Central Pondera Counties. * WHEN...From midnight MDT tonight to 5 PM MST Sunday. * IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...After a period of wind gusts to around 60 mph late tonight into early Saturday morning, winds may temporarily decrease late Saturday morning before increasing further Saturday afternoon through Saturday night. Strongest wind speeds are expected to occur Saturday night.

Safety Instructions

People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Remember, a High Wind Warning means that there is at least an 80% chance of 40 mph sustained winds or 58 mph wind gusts occurring during the warning period.
