Alert Description

...The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Mississippi... Bogue Chitto River Near Tylertown affecting Pike and Walthall Counties. For the Bogue Chitto River...including Tylertown, Franklinton, Bush...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Bogue Chitto River near Tylertown. * WHEN...From this afternoon to Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Secondary roads in the vicinity of the river will flood. Homes close to the river and portions of the Hidden Springs Resort Park will be flooded. There will be widespread flooding of pasture and farm land. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 7.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 22.0 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.0 feet on 04/27/1964. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
