Alert Description

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...Portions of Big Bend and Panhandle Florida, including the following counties, in Big Bend Florida, Liberty. In Panhandle Florida, Bay, Calhoun, Gulf and Washington. * WHEN...Until 745 PM EDT /645 PM CDT/. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 145 PM EDT /1245 PM CDT/, the public reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen today. Some additional rainfall is possible into the evening hours. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Callaway, Stonemill Creek, Wewahitchka, Broad Branch, Kinard, Nixon, Youngstown, Cairo, Chipola Park, Majette, Frink, Saunders, Bayou George, Camp Flowers, Fountain, Bennett, Scotts Ferry, Singer Road and College Station. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Safety Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
