Alert Description

...The National Weather Service in Portland OR has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Oregon... Sandy River near Bull Run affecting Clackamas and Multnomah Counties. Trask River near Tillamook affecting Tillamook County. Hood River Near Hood River affecting Hood River County. Molalla River near Canby affecting Clackamas County. * WHAT...Major flooding is forecast. The current river forecast slightly exceeds the February 1996 flood. * WHERE...Molalla River near Canby. * WHEN...From late Thursday night to Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Above 25.0 feet, expect major flooding from Canby to the Willamette River. Historically, businesses along Hwy 99E in West Canby have been threatened by high water at this point. Flooding in the community of Barlow can be expected at this and higher stages, along with flooding of numerous homes and agricultural land. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 PM PST Wednesday the stage was 15.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Thursday night before cresting around 25.1 feet Friday morning before then falling below flood stage Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Safety Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive through flooded areas.
