* WHAT...For the Lake Wind Advisory, northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. For the Dense Smoke Advisory, visibility below 3 miles at times in dense smoke. * WHERE...Central and Southern Valley and McCone Counties. For the Lake Wind Advisory, Fort Peck Lake. * WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
Safety Instructions
Boaters on Fort Peck Lake should use extra caution since strong winds and rough waves can overturn small craft. Persons with respiratory illnesses should remain indoors to avoid inhaling smoke. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
