Alert Description

* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, northwest winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas 9 to 14 ft. For the Freezing Spray Advisory, moderate accumulation of freezing spray. * WHERE...Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia- North Carolina border out to 20 nm and Coastal waters from NC VA border to Currituck Beach Light NC out 20 nm. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in some loss of stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
