Hydrologic Outlook

ESFAFC The Skilak glacier dammed lake (GDL) is releasing based on observed stage increases downriver. Residents along the Kenai River downstream of Skilak Lake should be aware of rising water through Tuesday. The Kenai River below Skilak Lake is expected to reach action stage (12.18 ft above gage datum) Monday morning, but is not expected to move into flood stage. The Kenai River at Kenai Keys will remain below action stage (9.93 ft) and crest Monday (11/03) evening. The Kenai River at Soldotna will crest below action stage (10 ft) early Tuesday morning. Flooding is not anticipated along the Kenai River at this time.
