Alert Description

A prolonged period of record warmth and very low humidity will bring elevated to critical fire weather conditions for much of northeast and north central Colorado through Saturday. The most widespread critical conditions are expected to develop Saturday afternoon and hold into Saturday evening. The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 214, 215 and 216. * TIMING...From Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 6 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.
