During the Small Craft Advisory, the maximum winds are expected around 7 PM EST Thursday with the largest waves expected around. During the Gale Watch, the maximum winds are expected around 5 AM EST Friday with the largest waves expected around. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Persistent south to southwest gales Thursday will cause water levels to drop near or below low water datum. The current forecast is for water levels at Essexville to drop to 14 inches below low water datum. The critical mark for safe navigation is 10 inches below low water datum.
