Alert Description

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 9 PM MDT Monday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 420, 425, and 427. * WIND...Southwest to west winds Sunday, becoming west to northwest Monday, at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * HUMIDITY...5 to 10 percent Sunday; overnight recoveries 20 to 30 percent; 8 to 12 percent Monday. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
